Biography
Rossana oversees two Illinois Retina locations, one in the Loop and the other at Rush University Medical Center. Her responsibilities also include overseeing several clerical functions for the practice. Rossana's gravitation to the healthcare profession was natural. Her twin brothers are also in the medical field, one is a pediatrician and the other is employed with the Department of Health and her grandfather was a physician in South America.
Rossana moved to Chicago from Lima, Peru in 1984 to join her parents who were already living on Chicago's Northwest side. Upon finishing her education at a local college, Rossana interviewed for what she thought would be an entry-level position at Illinois Retina's Loop office. A year later she became manager of that office. Since then, she has been part of the continuing evolution and growth of Illinois Retina Associates.
Rossana feels that working for the practice has taught her a lot - not only about healthcare but also what it's like to be part of a team of physicians, managers and employees who care about what they do.
