Biography
Mary is the Central Billing Office manager for Illinois Retina Associates. Her responsibilities include overseeing the Central Billing Office with regards to charge entry, outgoing claims, claim payment and patient collections for the entire practice. In addition, she is in direct contact with insurance carriers concerning reimbursement issues and charity foundations for patient balance assistance.
Member of the AAOE and is an officer of the Corporate Compliance Committee.
Mary began her career with Illinois Retina Associates in 1999 as a Patient Service Representative at the Harvey, Illinois office. Mary assisted the Central Billing Office with insurance collection issues and joined the Central Billing Office team full time in June 2002. She has assisted in the revamp of the CBO operations and has proven to handle the many changes in ophthalmic billing within the last decade.
She grew up in Chicago Heights and attended Prairie State College. She started her medical billing experience at Illinois Retina Associates, specifying in ophthalmic billing but achieved her management experience in the retail industry.
In her spare time, Mary keeps busy with her family and multitude of pets. She is active in church and community groups and enjoys gardening and home remodeling.
Additional accomplishments include, member of the Matteson Chamber of Commerce for 3 years, Treasurer for Chicago Heights Jaycee’s for 5 years and Religious Education teacher for the past 10 years.
