“While on vacation I developed a retinal detachment. Illinois Retina and Dr. Chaturvedi and the staff quickly assessed the situation and put me on the path for an operation to gain my sight back and I cannot THANK ILLINOIS RETINA enough for thier expediency, care and concern.”
“As always, I had a wonderful experience through all phases of my yearly appointment with Dr. Rezaei and his entire supporting staff. From the moment Dr. Rezaei walks into the Exam Room until he flies out the same door, he exudes self confidence, effectively creating a trusting environment and safe haven. As his patient, I cannot imagine being under the care of anyone else. How grateful I am for Dr. Rezaei.”
“Dr. Hasan is very polite , knowledgeable and competent. I believe he worries about my eyesight more than I do. The office is very organized and apparently very efficient.”
“Dr. Raiji was kind, attentive, and very thorough during the exam. She explained everything clearly and took the time to answer my questions without making me feel rushed. I really appreciated how informative and approachable she was.”
“I have had a lot of issues with my eyes over the last 5 years. I needed to find a Dr. closer to home. Needless to say I was beyond nervous to make a change (due to my history). Dr Ravage and his entire staff were fantastic. Immediately made me feel welcome and comfortable with switching Dr’s. They were well aware of my previous issues, which meant they read and payed attention to my previous medical records. Beyond thankful!!!!”
“Great experience. I was able to get an appointment the next day and I was seen at the scheduled time. The team was very professional and gave me confidence that they were competent. Dr. Chaturvedi was great. Two thumbs up.”
“Dr. MacCumber was superb. He was in charge of (obviously), but also in the sense that he immediately gave me as the patient a tremendous sense of confidence...that I knew that he knew exactly how to diagnose me. Truly a fantastic doctor. And his entire support team, from front desk to nurses/assistants, were all top notch.”
“One of the best experiences on a really scary day. Staff and Dr. Rezaei were beyond amazing! No need to go to Chicago when docs like him in NW Indiana!”
“Dr. Civantos was a true professional. Explained everything I needed to know in a manner in which I could understand and appreciate.”
“I had a great experience at Illinois Retina Associates, specifically at their Skokie location. From coordinating with my healthcare network to scheduling the appointment, the staff made everything easy and efficient. When my network failed twice to send over my medical notes, Emmaline not only kept me informed but also patiently helped me navigate how to copy and submit them myself. That kind of support made a stressful situation much easier. The reception team, support staff, and doctors were all incredibly thoughtful and helpful. It’s clear they are a well-organized, experienced team that works smoothly together. Dr. Jack Cohen, in particular, treated me with great care and took the time to thoroughly answer my questions. He helped alleviate many of my concerns with kindness and clarity. Although this was a one-time visit for me, my mother-in-law has had multiple appointments here. They always manage to keep her moving during her visits, which means she doesn’t even have time to complain. That’s a win in my book. We’ve only visited the Skokie office so far, but I live near their Libertyville location, which gives me flexibility for future appointments. They also have a Chicago office, which adds to their accessibility across the area.
I highly recommend Illinois Retina Associates.”
“Dr. Shepherd was fantastic and answered all of my questions directly and clearly. I'm very happy she is tracking my issue and I left very reassured that any issues will be dealt with by the practice.”
“Always very professional with a great staff that seems to love what they do. Always leave my appointment knowing that I’ve chosen the best Doctor and staff.”
“Great experience starting with the women at the front desk to each of the PAs to the wonderful personal attention given by Dr. Sabherwal.”
“Everything was good. I've been seeing a doctor for this for months. In my first experience I felt like I learned more and everything was handled very kind and professionally.”
“They say to allow 2-3 hours for my visit, but it's always much less time to finish the procedure. This time, as always, we were finished in less than an hour. Dr. Chaturvedi and his entire staff function smoothly and efficiently -- providing a pleasant experience every time.”

“Every single staff remember at Illinois Retina Associates were amazing. Everyone was extremely helpful, friendly, and professional. This was our first time here, and we haven’t had such wonderful care from start to finish for a long time.”
“I could not ask for any better treatment than what I had the care and personal attention I received from when I entered the office untold I left I could not ask for any more attention and concern that Dr. Cohen showed he assured me that he had concern and care for condition Thank you for a very caring doctor he treats his patients as individuals and you couldn’t ask for better.”
“I had seen Dr Ravage about 5 years ago, he fit me in his busy schedule as I had flashing in my left eye. I was experiencing similar symptoms and again he fit me in his busy schedule. I can’t say enough good things about Dr Ravage, he’s thorough and he explains his findings well. I drive 45-60 minutes to the office and will do the same in the future. Thanks, Dr. Ravage and your staff for such a pleasant experience!!”
“I recently moved from Chicago to Tennessee, and drove back to be treated at Illinois Retina. Worth the trip!”
“Dear Dr. Veena Raiji, I lost your phone number! So I am reaching out the old fashioned way. As you know I have non-syndromic retinitis pigmentosa. Yet I am to pursue a career in ENT! Well, I have great news...I saw Dr. Rahmani (she reminds me of you :) and based on my visual fields, ERG, preliminary genetics testing (which you ordered) and overall clinical presentation, she says my phenotype is mild any significant visual impairment will occur on the order of decades, and my chance of going completely blind is <1%. Also, in 20 years the available treatment options will be plenty. So, she said go for ENT! I want to sincerely thank you for taking part in my car. This has been an emotional roller coaster. I questioned myself and my future. But this experience has prompted me to reflect on what it means to be a patient dealing with uncertainty, bouncing from doctor to doctor for workup/opinions. I hope this helps me develop into a more compassionate physician. I am grateful to have met you. Your kindness & compassion did make a difference.”
“From the moment I walked into the Skokie office, at the reception desk, all the technicians, and Dr. Ravage, I felt like they were treating my "whole person" not just an eye problem. Everyone displayed such courtesy, compassion, and professionalism. What a marvelous place. I called for an appointment, quite at the last minute, to get a 2nd opinion consultation on some necessary surgery. The staff found a date that worked for me and the appointment went well with very little waiting, even though the waiting room was quite busy.”
“Dearest Dr. Raiji, I am enjoying my new eyes!! Went to the Botanical Gardens recently and just loved the fact I am able to view the beautiful winter trees and curl up in a quiet corner with Wordsworth poetry in hand (and a good coffee). I love this place in the winter because it is quiet and an adventure getting here on the METRA! There are no words to express my gratitude for your help in giving me my sight back. I've been back in school with this doctoral experience and enjoying it very much now that I can read, highlight all my million books, and do research. I've also been painting again, although I am not very good at it, but one does not give up. It is the experience of the task that matters and if there is passion then enjoyment is in the heart. Thought about you when I visited the Art Institute and viewed Georgia O'Keefe photography exhibit. She was an amazing woman with the eyes of a genius. After my AIC visits I've been sitting in the back of a lecture room at the Chicago Psychoanalytic Institute on Michigan Ave sneaking in and listening to Freud lectures. All these MDs, PhDs wonder who I am, but now that I can see again I am going to apply as an "interested scholar" to study with them next year (my sneaking in days are over). They haven't tossed me out of the lectures yet! Next year I'm finishing all of Freud's writings, Darwin, Marx, Dante, Woolf, Quantum Physics, Turgenev and some other movers and shakers of genius. The physics is a bit challenging...Well, i wish you and your family a blessed, safe and tranquil holiday. "See" you soon! Your grateful patient"”
“Doctor Pollack is tremendous. I have had complete confidence in him and his staff for many years. He has always recommended what he has thought was best for me.”
