Illinois Retina Associates is proud to recognize Dr. Kourous Rezaei's distinguished participation as an invited speaker at the 2025 EURETINA Annual Meeting, held in Paris France.
This premier global forum, is the largest retina meeting in the world with more than 10,000 health care professionals participating. It brings together leading retina specialists from across the world to share the latest advancements in the world of retina. Dr. Rezaei serves on the Board of EURETINA and his prominent involvement highlights both his leadership in the field and his dedication to innovation in retinal care.
As the lead organizer of the EURETINA Innovation Spotlight (EIS), Dr. Rezaei curated a forward-thinking program that showcased next-generation treatment and imaging technologies currently under clinical evaluation. Presentations from global biotech companies focused on emerging therapies for dry macular degeneration, wet age related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and rare inherited retinal diseases.
Dr. Rezaei had the honor of introducing Dr. Jane Moseley, Scientific Officer at the European Medicines Agency, who delivered the keynote address to a global audience of retinal professionals and biotech executives.
Beyond innovation, Dr. Rezaei led a dynamic educational initiative aimed at enhancing surgical education for retina specialists. He moderated a high-level panel discussion featuring internationally recognized key opinion leaders, addressing the latest developments in managing macular holes, retinal detachment, diabetic retinal disease, and scleral buckling.
During the highly anticipated Late Breaker session, Dr. Rezaei presented compelling data on a newly developed cutting edge 27-gauge vitrectomy surgery platform Unity VCS, poised to revolutionize retinal surgery and become a valuable tool for retina surgeons. This next-generation surgical system is poisedto deliver more efficient surgery, potentially improving outcomes for patients with complex retinal conditions.
In another key session, Dr. Rezaei chaired a prestigious international surgical panel featuring leading retina surgeons from Italy, Spain, Germany, France, China, Japan and the United States discussing the cutting edge surgical management of retinal detachment, macular hole, diabetic tractional detachment and proliferative vitreoretinopathy.
