👁️🗨️ Welcome Dr. Paul de Bustros, Our New Fellow! 👁️🗨️
We’re excited to welcome Paul de Bustros, MD to Illinois Retina Associates and Rush University Medical Center as our newest Vitreoretinal Fellow!
Paul grew up in Flossmoor, IL, and attended medical school at Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine, where his passion for ophthalmology took root. His early research focused on the ocular surface microbiome in patients with severe ocular surface diseases, and he served as chief resident in his final year.
During residency, Paul honed his interest in retinal disease, conducting research on non-invasive imaging techniques for diagnosing and managing diabetic retinopathy.
Now, he’s ready to take the next step—advancing his training in the medical and surgical management of vitreoretinal diseases with us!
👨⚕️ Fun Fact: Recognize that last name? Paul is the son of our very own Emeritus Serge de Bustros, MD—we’re proud to see the legacy continue!
Please join us in giving Dr. de Bustros a warm welcome! 👏
